On September 26, 2024, Pelita Global Mandiri Kindergarten organized a delightful and educational event titled “Cooking 1”, aimed at teaching young students the basics of cooking. The event, which took place on the school playground, was attended by 139 students from Playgroup, Pre-K, KG1, and KG2.

The highlight of the event was the hands-on cooking session where students had the opportunity to learn how to make a delicious vegetable salad. The children were guided by Ibu Maria Kusumaningtami, a skilled chef who introduced them to the process of preparing fresh and healthy vegetables. Under her expert guidance, students learned how to wash, chop, and mix various vegetables, giving them valuable insights into healthy eating and nutrition.
Ibu Maria shared her excitement about the event:
“It was a joy to see the children so eager to get involved and learn how to make their own salad. They were all so excited to try the vegetables and see how simple ingredients could be transformed into a tasty dish. It was a great opportunity to teach them the importance of healthy eating from a young age.”
The event not only introduced the children to basic cooking skills but also emphasized the importance of healthy food choices. By participating in this activity, the students gained hands-on experience while also learning about the nutritional benefits of eating vegetables. The event was a fun and interactive way to promote healthy habits in a way that was engaging for the young learners.
