Pelita Global Mandiri Kindergarten hosted a successful Community Service event on October 11, 2024, at its campus. The initiative aimed to instill the values of cleanliness and teamwork among the young students.
The event brought together all kindergarten students from Playgroup to KG2 classes, along with their class teachers and several cross-grade teachers. The highlight of the day was a communal activity where students collaborated to clean their classroom learning tools. This “kerja bakti” (communal work) not only taught them the importance of maintaining a clean environment but also strengthened cooperation among peers.
In addition to the cleaning activities, students engaged in interactive sessions where they learned about the impact of cleanliness on health and the environment. Teachers facilitated discussions and games that emphasized the importance of keeping their surroundings tidy.
“We hope that through this activity, students will learn to maintain cleanliness at home and wherever they are,” said Ms. Zia, who served as the Master of Ceremonies. She also delivered an engaging talk on the significance of cleanliness in everyday life.
The event was not only educational but also fun for the students. Many expressed joy in working together with their friends and teachers, making the learning experience both memorable and effective.
The Community Service event reflects the school’s commitment to serving the community by nurturing responsible and socially aware individuals from a young age. Pelita Global Mandiri Kindergarten plans to continue such initiatives to further instill valuable life skills in their students.
