On October 11, 2024, students from Pelita Global Mandiri Junior High participated in an engaging event titled “Grow and Learn Catfish Farming,” held on the school campus. This unique educational activity aimed to provide students with hands-on knowledge about catfish farming, covering essential topics such as pond construction, water management, and efficient feed practices.
During the event, students learned about the various stages of catfish farming, starting from pond preparation to maintaining optimal water quality for fish health. They were given an in-depth overview of catfish care techniques, including sustainable feeding methods and disease prevention strategies. The program also introduced them to recent innovations in the aquaculture industry, helping them understand how modern technology can improve fish farming productivity and sustainability.
Mr. Ade, who served as the event’s point of contact and main speaker, emphasized the broader lessons that catfish farming can impart. “Through catfish farming, we can foster a sense of responsibility not only towards ourselves but also towards our environment,” he explained.
