On October 10, 2024, 53 second-grade students from Pelita Global Mandiri Elementary experienced an exciting and immersive field trip to KidZania Jakarta. This educational adventure offered young students a unique opportunity to explore a variety of real-world professions in a miniature city, encouraging hands-on learning and the development of essential life skills.
KidZania provided a safe, engaging environment where students could role-play different professions, learning about the roles, responsibilities, and skills required in fields such as healthcare, manufacturing, emergency services, and packaging. The experience began with students selecting their desired professions—from doctors, firefighters, and police officers to factory workers and chefs—each role complete with authentic uniforms and equipment. Guided by trained staff, students actively participated in simulations that gave them insight into each job’s processes, from production and packaging to rescue operations and medical care.
The activities not only taught students about the functions of various professions but also highlighted essential skills such as teamwork, responsibility, communication, and problem-solving. Students discovered the importance of each role in society and were encouraged to consider how their interests and skills could one day contribute to the world around them. KidZania’s realistic settings and interactive approach captivated students, allowing them to learn in an environment filled with excitement and curiosity.
This field trip to KidZania sparked imagination and inspiration among students, helping them understand that they, too, have the potential to become professionals who make a difference in their communities.
